Six Key Valve Design on CAP1400 Nuclear Power Passed Review

Chief Executive Officer at Dynatom International GmbH
Design review meeting on six key CAP1400 valves including the main steam isolation valve (MSIV) was held in Dalian by Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute (SNERDI) during December 26-27. The six key valve designs were part of issue of large-scale advanced PWR major projects on development of nuclear pumps, valves, electrical equipment and instrument development. Members of the expert group come from Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, China Nuclear Power Engineering, China General Nuclear Power Group, Nuclear Safety Equipment and Reliable Center, State Nuclear Power Engineering and Beijing Zhongyuan Ltd were presented at the meeting.

Six key CAP1400 valves are involved in this review, including MSIV, main feed check valve, large diameter electric gate valve, ADS Valve, main steam safety valve and electromagnetic valve, which are jointly developed and researched by SNERDI, Dalian DV Valve Co., Ltd, Haerbin Electric Group Power Plant Valve Co., Ltd and Anshan Electromagnetic Valve Co. Ltd, etc.

On the meeting, experts listened report on the requirement introduction of six key valves and the design technology research work of supporting units. After theoretical calculation, numerical simulation, experimental verification and other full discussion research, they reach consensus on the approval of the review and put forward corresponding suggestion.
