Some 99% of residents in Fukushima prefecture and neighbouring Ibaraki have barely detectable levels of internal exposure to caesium-137, a group of Japanese researchers has found. Of the remaining 1%, all showed levels well below the government-set limit.

A strategic review of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) announced as part of the US federal budget will consider the possible sale of all or part of the government-owned corporation. TVA executives appear to have been taken by surprise by the news.

NUCLEAR POLICIES: Nuclear not currently an option for Singapore (http://www.world-nuclear-news.org/NP-Nuclear_not_currently_an_option_for_Singapore-1104131.html)
Deployment of nuclear power is not on the agenda for Singapore at the moment, delegates at the World Nuclear Fuel Cycle conference in the city heard this week. The island city-state has few options for low-carbon power.
